Latest Toastie News!

People join Toastmasters for a variety of reasons.  Professional advancement is certainly a key factor for some.  One of our wonderful members has recently written a book, and is taking everything he has learnt from Toastmasters on his speaking tour to promote his book. We all congratulate you Mukesh on your commitment and dedication to improving your ability to stand in front of an audience and deliver your message with grace, emotion, and authority!

Every year each club holds in house speech competitions, which cover each category (humorous, table topics/impromptu, evaluations and international) Last month saw our club engage in the divisional competition, and we proudly watched our team stand up and deliver engaging and emotional speeches.

Congratulations to Sarah, Tammy and Andrea for applying all you've learnt so far in Toastmasters, and placing in all categories!  We're so proud of you!

Competitions aren't for everyone, but its a wonderful playing field for testing yourself, and being creative with your words, how you use your voice, your volume, and your physical gestures - all crucial elements of connecting with your audience

Could you be our next competition superstars???

We Love New Toasties

There's nothing we love more than welcoming new members to our growing club. All our members are the heart of Sunshine Coast Toastmasters, which makes it all the more rewarding watching their journey.

Welcome Luisa!

Luisa says "I joined Toastmasters to learn how to communicate better. Because English is my second language, it created more reasons for me to be able to get my message across not only in professional arenas, but also socially.  Everyone at Toastmasters is encouraging and supportive, which makes it easier to learn and apply everything."

No matter your reasons, there is always something to learn and share when you become a Toastmaster.

Celebrating Your Wins..

Here at Sunshine Coast Toastmasters, we have a quirky little tradition, where at the end of the night we choose one of our members to take home the magical snowglobe!

What does this little icon represent, I hear you ask?

Its an opportunity for us to acknowledge one of our special members, for their contribution and commitment to their personal growth, and to the club itself.

Well done Tasch! You only joined us recently, but you are eager to engage, support others and apply what you're learning along the way.  We love that you're always ready with a smile and a lift for anyone that needs it on the night.  We're so glad you're a Toastie now.

I wonder who'll take home the magical globe next time??
